Chaos - Temporary traffic lights on Northern Approach stop working (Image: Google)
THE temporary traffic lights on a busy Colchester junction went out in the middle of rush hour this morning.
At around 8.25am the traffic lights at the junction between Northern Approach and Mill Road were not working.
One driver described the situation as a "free for all" as drivers battled to join the junction from all angles.
The witness said motorists were able to get through safely and worked together to help cars turning across the junction into their road.
Essex Highways has been contacted for comment.
